The awareness towards women participation in politics and the need to increase women representation in government, how it can empower women and contribute to societal and human development.
This notion of women empowerment is rooted in the human capabilities approach in which individuals are empowered to choose the functioning they deem valuable.
Women, as the conventional primary caretakers of children, often have a more prominent role than men in advocating for children, resulting in a "double dividend" in terms of the benefits of women's representation. Some of the challenges associated to hindrance in women participation in politics were also pointed out, like the issue of gender inequality, women not to be seen in public ,gaining approval from the media, balancing work and family, fear of the manner which they manager authority etc.
Solutions were also discussed for examples policies should be formed to equalize the education opportunity, quotas for female participation, legislative reform, financing gender responsive budget that furthers women empowerment.
The writer stating that women should be empowered and encouraged to aspire for political leadership and governance position so as to increase women political capacities
