The Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, today said four
key suspects had been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of
four students of the University of Port Harcourt at Aluu Community in
Rivers.
He said the suspects were caught after they were clearly
identified in one of the video clips of the incident posted on the
Internet.
He identified Felomo Solomon, Cynthia Chinwo, Oziomo
Abajuo and Chigozie Evans as the four key suspects. Click to continue

“Of all the suspects arrested, Alhaji
Hassan Welewa, the Traditional Ruler of Allu Community, has been
indicted by intelligent information as one of the chief instigator, who
encouraged the mob to kill and burn those four innocent young men,’’ he
said.
The IG said the police were also looking for the
whereabouts of one Coxson Lucky, also known as Bright, who was alleged
to be the one the victims went to see with regard to money owed them,
who also raised the alarm that the young men were thieves.
A massive deployment of policemen had been made to the area, including detectives to assist the Rivers State Police Command.
“We
are investigating every aspect of the killings, including the
allegations that some policemen stood idly watching while these hideous
act took place’’ the IG concluded.
